Online birthday invitation cards: a guide for parents and party planners

Birthday parties in Pakistan have grown. A first birthday can mean a hall, a theme and a hundred guests, and a fiftieth can be a surprise that has to stay secret from the one person on the family group. A printed card does not really fit either. An online card does.

Why online works well for birthdays

• It is ready in an hour, which matters because birthday plans are made late.
• The venue is a tap away, handy for play areas and restaurants guests have never been to.
• You can change the time the night before without sending anything new.
• Guests can be told how many places are held for them, so the kids' count does not triple on the day.

Wording for a first birthday

• English: Our little [Name] is turning one! Join us for cake, balloons and a lot of noise on [date] at [venue].
• Roman Urdu: Hamari guriya [naam] ki pehli salgirah hai! Aap sab ki dua aur shirkat ka intezar rahega. [date], [jagah].
• Urdu: ہماری ننھی [نام] کی پہلی سالگرہ کے موقع پر آپ کی شرکت ہمارے لیے باعثِ مسرت ہوگی۔

Wording for a kids' party

• [Name] is turning 7 and wants all his friends there. Superheroes welcome. [date], [time], [venue].
• Pick-up is at [time]. Parents are welcome to stay for tea!

Wording for an adult birthday or a surprise

• Shh! We are throwing a surprise party for [Name]'s 50th. Please arrive by 7:30 sharp and do not say a word.
• Join us to celebrate [Name] turning 30: dinner, music and old photos. [date], [venue].

Counting heads

The caterer wants a number and the play area charges per child. With a private link per family, each invitation says how many places are held for that family, and your panel adds up the total for you. Nobody needs a phone call to find out if the cousins are bringing friends.

Designs
